David Luiz is looking forward to welcoming Oscar to the club and helping his Brazilian international team-mate settle in England.
The 20-year-old completed his transfer to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday afternoon, and is currently in the country with the Olympic squad, helping them beat Great Britain in a friendly last week before starring in their opening group game yesterday against Egypt, creating two goals in a 3-2 win.
'Oscar will adapt quickly, he has a lot of Brazilians here at Chelsea which will make it easy for him,' David Luiz told the official website in Miami. 'We will all help him to adapt as quickly as possible to London and the Premier League.
'I spoke to him before he signed, I told him Chelsea is a great club and that it is a big opportunity in his professional life, to show his football to the world. Chelsea is one of the top five teams in the world and I think it was the best choice for him.'
There is plenty of evidence available of what the attacking midfielder is like on the field, but off it David Luiz believes we should expect a quieter presence than himself.
'Oscar has his own characteristics, you cannot compare him to other people on the pitch, but off it he reminds me of Ramires,' the defender explained.
'He is an amazing person, a very simple guy to get to know, very quiet and respectful of everybody around him. I know he will have a great future with us, not just on the pitch but outside the pitch also.'
